Welsh Terriers relish opportunities to try new and fun activities. There are many performance events available to adventurous dog and human teams. The following are activities that can lead to recognized titles through the American Kennel Club and other organizations.
Earth Dog
Is the traditional pursuit of testing your terrier's ability to "go to ground" and hunt! This is the favored Performance Event of Welsh Terriers.
Barn Hunt
Barn Hunt is based on the traditional roles of many breeds in ridding farms, barns, crop storage areas, and homes of destructive vermin, and offers the opportunity to test the working traits of dogs in a safe and fun setting.
Agility
Agility demonstrates control, speed and teamwork through timed obstacle courses.
Canine Good Citizen
In CGC, dogs who pass the 10 step CGC test can earn a certificate and/or the official AKC CGC title.
Lure Coursing
Traditionally a sport for sighthounds, lure coursing is becoming increasingly popular for a wide variety of breeds. Lure coursing especially enjoyed by those that love the thrill of the chase -- The Welsh Terrier being amongst them! The AKC now offers a Coursing Ability Test (CAT) to test a dog’s basic hunt-by-sight ability.
Obedience
Obedience training and trials help dogs learn to behave well at home and in public.

Therapy Dogs
