Summary: Pancreatitis, a serious and painful inflammation of the pancreas, is increasingly common in dogs. It can come on suddenly, often after a dietary indiscretion, or can develop over time. In some cases, symptoms may be subtle initially (e.g., restlessness after eating, drooling, regurgitation, vomiting, lip-licking, or other
symptoms of gastrointestinal tract upset) and then progress to full-blown pancreatitis. During this presentation, Dr. Morgan will address dogs at risk for pancreatitis, how to manage acute and chronic cases, prevention, and how to differentiate pancreatitis from other disorders of the gastrointestinal tract.
