Speaker: Dr. Ed Jazic, DVM, DACVD

This presentation will offer an in-depth look at Canine Atopic Dermatitis, recognized as the most common disease in canine veterinary dermatology and quite possibly in veterinary medicine as a whole. He will focus on the key aspects of diagnosis and treatment, examining how clinical signs, diagnostic criteria, and testing methods help veterinarians identify this pervasive condition. The session will also review established and emerging therapies, with an emphasis on enhancing patient outcomes and quality of life. By attending, participants will gain valuable insights into the practical challenges and latest advancements in diagnosing and managing Canine Atopic Dermatitis.

Dr. Jazic is Co-Founder of Dermatology for Animals, which provides specialized veterinary care for animals with a variety of skin conditions. and allergies. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology from the University of Toronto and earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. After 3 years in small animal practice, Dr. Jazic completed a 3-yr veterinary dermatology residency with Dermatology for Animals in Arizona and received board certification in veterinary dermatology in 2006.

Dr. Jazic has published an exhaustive review of the clinical, infectious, and histopathological features of feline acne and has authored multiple chapters in several veterinary textbooks on Feline Acne, Cutaneous Neoplasia, and Ticks. Originally from Toronto, Canada, Dr. Jazic spent 3 years of his childhood in Croatia. He speaks fluent Croatian and enjoys traveling with his wife Cassandra, sports, live music, and spending time in his native Toronto. He currently sees patients in Gilbert and Tucson, AZ as well as Rochester, NY as an associate veterinary dermatologist for Dermatology for Animals.
